With the added 4′ in-between the 2 containers the total sq footage is 400
Is the build complete?
This unit is 95% complete. Finish plumbing and countertop install are all that remains. The windows, exterior siding and roofing will be installed on location.
Is it built to code?
The Bento Home is built to International Building Code (IBC). The insulation and snow loads are built to state of Maine standards, which are more stringent than IBC.
What is the roof made of?
The roof is made of structural insulated panels, or SIP panels. These double as insulation and structural integrity of the roof.

How is the home connected to utilities?
The Bento Home is designed and built to hook up to traditional home connections.
What is the roofing material?
Continuous steel roofing.
Can it be solar powered?
Yes. All the lighting is already 24V, an inverter would be required to run the refrigerator, AC, and stove. This would be an optional upgrade.
Is there a washer and dryer?
The unit comes with a 1.5 cu ft automatic washer/spin dryer.
What is the foundation?
The Bento Home can be attached to 8 Sono tubes, or can be place on a traditional foundation.
What are the set up costs at my location?
This will vary based on the location.
What is the floating wall?
The floating wall is a partition that separates the bedroom from the living room. It is simply a floor to ceiling dresser on the bedroom side and your entertainment/TV wall on the living room side. When the bedroom is not in use, this dresser/TV wall slides on industrial tracks into the bedroom to create more living space. See here.
